CARING FOR THE SICK
When we need healing and strength, Christ comes to meet us. If you or someone you know is unable to come to church, either temporarily or for a long period of time, it is possible to receive Holy Communion, Confession or Anointing of the Sick at home or in hospital. Please contact the Parish Priest as required.

If someone is in danger of death, it is important that they receive the Last Rites of the Church. In hospital, you should ask for the Roman Catholic chaplain. In other situations, please phone the Parish Office immediately.

FUNERALS
For Catholics, organising a Requiem Mass is the best way of showing our continued love for the deceased person. Once you have made contact with the funeral director, ask them to contact the Parish Priest to begin making the arrangements. We are here to reassure and help guide you through the planning of a Catholic funeral using the consoling rites and prayers that the Church gives to us.
BECOMING CATHOLIC
The word catholic comes from the ancient Greek katholikos, meaning 'universal'. Around the world, the Catholic Church is filled with all kinds of people who know and love Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In becoming Catholic, you join the universal Church founded by our Lord, a Church that calls all of humanity to hear and respond to the Gospel.

Do you think God might be calling you to follow him in the Catholic Church? You don’t need to make any firm decisions before you can start asking questions. Speak to the Parish Priest to start learning more about what Catholics believe. No one will try to rush you into anything.

Before adults can be baptised, received or confirmed, there has to be a period of preparation or catechesis. The Church asks adults seeking baptism or confirmation to make sure they understand what they are asking for, and to help lay the foundations of the Christian life to be lived out beyond the reception of those sacraments. This period of preparation takes the form of a series of classes known as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, or RCIA. RCIA classes run once a year - please contact the Parish Priest to find out when they will next begin.
